It was a rare Labor Day weekend for me this year. I didn’t have a wedding (first time in 5 years) so I got to be part of the fabulous Begonia Festival in Capitola Village. Yes, on my weekend off I wired hundreds of begonias onto chicken wire along with a huge gang of people. My hands were purple, my back hurt, my arms were scratched up, but it was fun! And the resulting Dragonfly was beautiful.
The floats are built by the local Boyscouts. Then each team creates the structure. My kids had a blast playing by the river.
It takes a village!
